Major underwritings for CPIC Property

In 1992, the company provided PA coverage for 531 members of the Chinese delegation participating in the 25th Olympics.
In 1992, Shanghai branch provided group PA to the staff of First Eastern Asian Games Organizing Committee.
In 1993, the company provided property insurance to joint venture Shenyang Jinbei Automobile Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
In 1993, the company provided insurance to Shanghai Yuyuan Department Store, the best jewellery store in Asia.
In 1994, the company provided construction insurance to Yellow River Wanjiazhai Hydro Engineering Project.
In 1994, Shanghai branch provided property insurance to Oriental Pearl TV Broadcasting Tower.       
From 1993 to 2006, Pacific Property Insurance has been the leader for underwriting of Hainan Aeronautic Team.
The company is solely or jointly involved in the launching insurance, returning insurance, and the third party liability insurance of 22 satellites home and abroad.
Pacific Insurance has provided hull insurance for Sinochem, Cosco, China Shipping Group, China Changjiang National Shipping (Group) Corporation, China Offshore Oil Co. and the freight insurance of COFCO, and the overall marine insurance totaling 5.5 trillion yuan.
As the first insurer who introduced airport liability insurance, Pacific Insurance, as the leader, has provided airport liability insurance to 61 civil airports, such as Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Guangdong Baiyun International Airport, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (1993-1994 as the sole insurer, 2004-2007 as the primary insurer, 2007 in joint partnership with other insurers).
In 1995, Pacific Insurance (Shanghai) provided C.A.R. and T.P.L. for Jinmao Tower construction project, with the sum insured totaling 440,000 million US dollars.
In 1996, Wuhan Branch provided insurance for the 14 construction and installation projects of the primary term of Three Gorges Project, with the sum insured totaling 1.46 billion.
In February 1996, Pacific Insurance and Hong Kong Asian-Pacific Communications Satellite Co. Ltd. signed the agreement on the insurance of launching and movement in orbit of “Asian-Pacific 1A” communications satellite, and third party liability insurance, with the sum insured standing at 130 million US dollars and 100,000 pounds respectively.
In 1997, Pacific Insurance (Beijing) provided 100 million worth of insurance to the inspection ship “Snow Dragon” in its field trip in polar area.
In 1997, Pacific Insurance (Shanghai) and Qinshan 3rd Nuclear Plant Co. Ltd. signed the agreement on the C.A.R. insurance and T.P.L. insurance of Qinshan Phase Ⅲ PHWR Nuclear Power Plant.
In 1997, Pacific Insurance (Wuhan) signed with the HO of Three Gorges Project Development on the insurance of Phase II project, with sum insured at RMB 3.03 billion.
 In 1997, Pacific Insurance (Shanghai) provided insurance to Shanghai Metro Line 2, with sum insured at RMB 5.05 billion.
In 1998, Pacific Insurance was the unique insurer for system insurance of Chinese International Aeronautic and Astronautic Exposition with sum insured at RMB 150 billion worth’
In 1998, Pacific Property Insurance and Jiangsu Nuclear Electricity Co. Ltd. signed the protocol on the insurance of all the projects before the first casting of reinforced concrete in Lianyungang Nuclear Plant.
In January 1999, Pacific Insurance (Guangzhou) provided RMB 8.1 billion worth’s package insurance to Guangzhou Zhujiang Electricity Co. Ltd.
In May 1999, Pacific Insurance (Hainan), as the primary insurer, provided insurance of 31 airplanes in Hainan Airlines, with an insurance coverage of 850 million USD, and the limits of liability being USD 500 million.
In October 1999, Pacific Insurance provided domestic freight insurance and warehousing insurance to Sinar Mas Group, with an insurance coverage of RMB 1.6 billion.
In November 1999, Pacific Insurance was one of the insurer for C.A.R. and T.P.L.for Tianwan Nuclear Plant, Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, with sum insured exceeding USD 2 billion.
In March 2000, Pacific Insurance and General Administration of Civil Aviation of China signed an agreement on liability insurance of 14 international airports and international airstrips in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, etc. with sum insured at USD 280 million.
In February 2001, Pacific Insurance was the unique insurer for marine insurance of equipment of Tianwan Nuclear Plant, Lianyugang City, with sum insured at USD 460,000 million.
In August 2001, Pacific Insurance and the organizing committee of the 21st World University Games signed an agreement in Beijing on RMB 15.4 billion worth’s risk insurance of more than 180,000 athletes and coaches attending the Games.
In January 2002, Pacific Insurance (Shanghai) initiated in the underwriting by GM (Shanghai) on the all risk insurance clauses, profit loss insurance, etc and other insurances with sum insured at RMB 10 billion.
In May 2002, Pacific Property Insurance provided RMB 300 million worth’s insurance of the launching of FY-1D Meteorological Satellite.
In August 2002, Pacific Insurance, as the sole insurer of the 4th Chinese Air Show, provided package insurance for the exposition with sum insured at RMB 66.5 billion.
In March 2003, Pacific Insurance provided domestic freight insurance, import & export insurance, warehousing insurance, all risks insurance to APP Group (Chinese HO), with sum insured at RMB 64 billion.
In 2003, Pacific Insurance initiated in the underwriting of property insurance and vehicle insurance by ICBC, with sum insured at RMB 106.4 billion and the company undertook 40% coverage at RMB 42.56 billion.
In 2004, Pacific Property Insurance (Guangzhou) participated in providing all risks insurance and machinery breakdown insurance, power supply liability insurance to Guangdong Electricity Group. Our company wrote 25% of coverage with sum insured at RMB 26.75 billion.
In 2004, Pacific Property Insurance donated RMB 6.27 million worth’s life accident insurance and accident medical care insurance to Chinese Sports Team attending 2004 Athens Paralympics Games, and was awarded with the inscriptions and certificates of “Selected Insurer of Chinese Sports Team in “2004 Athens Paralympics” and “Enterprise of Goodwill Supporting Disabled People’s Sports”. On Aug. 18, the donation was increased to RMB 290 million.
In 2005, Pacific Property (Shanghai) provided package insurance to V8 Supercars Shanghai that held on Shanghai F1 tracks on June 10-12th.
In October 2005, Shenzhou 6 Manned Ship was launched successfully into the space. Pacific Property Insurance provided life accident insurance of two astronauts as well as the calligraphy “Acolade of Peace”. The company’s inscription and golden emblem cruised in the outer space with Shenzhou 6.
In 2006, Pacific Property Insurance provided 59.2 worth’s domestic freight insurance to Northeast Sales Subsidiary, Petro China Co. Ltd.

Significant property insurance underwritings

In January 1995, rocket “Asia-Pacific 2” communications satellite of Hong Kong Communications Satellite, insured by Pacific Property Insurance, exploded after blasting off and led to the total destruction of the rocket and satellite. Pacific Property Insurance paid USD 162 million within 50 days.
In the summer of 1996, serious flood and wind storm struck Liuzhou, Hangzhou, Shijiazhuang, Fushun, Guiyang and Hainan. The subsidiaries in those cities paid RMB 350 million in all.
In July 1999, the ship “Hangjiao 1004” was hit by storm and submerged. Pacific Property Insurance paid USD 9 million to Shanghai Waterway Administration.
In August 1999, Pacific Property Insurance provided marine freight all risks insurance to Jiangsu Jindong Paper Co. Ltd. A freight ship was caught in a shipwreck, and Pacific Insurance paid DM 1.02 million.
In Febuary 2000, Lixite Group in Wenzhou City was hit by storm, and Pacific Insurance paid RMB 6.63 million.
In Sept. 2000, an explosion happened in Hebei Light Industry Factory. Pacific Insurance (Shenzhen) paid RMB 9.28 million.
In June 2000, a civil airplane of Wuhan Airlines crashed. Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 10 million within 24 hours to Wuhan Airlines and RMB 24 million to the insureds.
In 2001, the wires of China National Offshore Oil Co. were broken Pacific Property Insurance (Guangzhou) and led to great economical loss. Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 13.51 million.
In December 2001, a fire in the workshop of Shanghai Zijiang Color Printing & Packaging Co. Ltd. caused severe damages to equipments and materials. Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 8.86 million.
In September 2002, a Cessna Citation 650 airplane of CAAC crashed in test flying in Xichang Airport, Sichuan Province. Pacific Property Insurance sent someone, together with international adjusters, to the spot to offer help and paid USD 8.8 million to the insured within 60 days.
In July 2003, a flood hit Huaihe River, and Pacific Property Insurance (Jiangsu) and Pacific Property Insurance (Anhui) paid RMB 30 million.
In August 2004, Taizhou and Wenzhou were hit by typhoon Rananim and Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 1.037 million to 33 people dead and 32 wounded.
In July 2006, the flood case of Fujian Southeast Industrial Co., was closed and Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 35 million.
In September 2006, the fire case of Chaoba Sanyang Energy Co. in Ningbo was closed. Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 119.6 million.
In October 2006, the sinking case of domestic diesel engine of “Bao’an City” Ship was closed. Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 36.15 million to Dalian Marine Diesel Engine Factory .
In December 2006, the fire case of Asian Pulp Co. Ltd., Ningbo was closed. Pacific Property Insurance paid RMB 28.57 million.
