Profile of China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd

China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd (CPIC) was established on the basis of China Pacific Insurance Co., Ltd, which was founded on May 13, 1991. Headquartered in Shanghai, its registered capital stands at RMB 7.7 billion.

The group has several subsidiaries: China Pacific Property Insurance Co., Ltd, China Pacific Life Insurance Co., Ltd, China Pacific Insurance (H.K.) Co., Ltd, China Pacific Asset Management Co., Ltd and Pacific-ING Life Insurance Co., Ltd. It also has representative offices in New York and London. CPPIC is the second largest in P&C sector and CPLIC ranks the third in life sector in China.

With its core value concept of integrity, prudence and excellence, the company is active in reforming and innovation to add values for its clients, shareholders, employees and other related parties and make contribution to a harmonious society as well.

Currently, CPIC has about 50,000 employees and 180,000 sales agents. It has over 5000 branches and marketing outlets and nationwide sales and service network, providing individual and institutional clients a wide range of risk prevention solutions, financial advices and asset management.

While focusing on its development, CPIC has dedicated itself to charity activities in fulfilling its duty as a corporate citizen. It has, ever since its establishment, taken an active role in helping the orphans and disabled and people in flood stricken areas.

In the years of 2000-2006, CPIC has been presented with international quality awards in gold, platinum and diamond categories by Business Innovation Direction (BID). In 2005, it was ranked 43rd in top 500 Chinese enterprises and 24th in top 500 Chinese service establishments by China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association. In the same year, CPIC was conferred with China Quality Ding and Chinese User Satisfactory Ding. Its customer service hotline 95500, was ranked among the Top 10 Satisfactory Brands of Call Centers in China. In 2006, CPIC won the honor of the most influential e-business in China at the 9th China International E-Commerce Conference.
